Floor Tom Rattle

We have sm57 s on all the toms and the snare.

Floor tom rattle.

3 of the 57 s came in a drum mic kit with a beta52. It totally makes a rattling noise and i hate it. Floor toms near the snare and rattle sign in to disable this ad i understand the standard positioning for floor toms when you ve got a 16 and an 18 is the 16 to the right of the drummer and the 18 to the right of the 16. Anyone have any ideas what this is or if this is normal.

When placing mics and setting levels the other day i noticed a rattle and after hunting found it came from 2 of the sm57 s. You get soniclear bearing edges suspension mounts and floor tom feet for impressive tone and tuneability. Small and it works. The plastic piece on top is really really lose and rattles after tom hits.

I will definitely buy a couple more one to go between my mounted toms to keep the occasional rattle away i keep them really close. 2 people found this helpful. Not a buzzing but it s really odd. The snare doesn t make this sound.

As i understand both the snare and 14 tom have the same 3 ply heads. And one to go between my two floor toms. Is my floor tom not tuned right on my drums.
